Thousands of Dabawenyos filled the streets on March 28, 2026, as supporters of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte marked his 81st birthday with a solidarity walk that blended remembrance with celebration. 

Clad in green, participants moved in unison through Davao City, reflecting on his years as mayor and later as president – roles that shaped both the city and the nation.

The event drew people from all walks of life, with themed birthday cakes symbolizing milestones from Duterte’s long political career. Beyond Davao, parallel gatherings unfolded across the globe, including notable assemblies near the International Criminal Court, where thousands of flowers were laid in tribute. Community picnics featuring Filipino dishes further highlighted the collective and cultural spirit of the occasion.

At San Pedro Square, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte and Vice President Sara Duterte joined supporters and political allies from across the country, culminating in a gathering that underscored enduring love and gratitude to Tatay Digong’s leadership.
