A growing wave of public support for former President Rodrigo Duterte took center stage as Senator Robin Padilla led the submission of a third batch of signatures on Monday, urging the Supreme Court to act on the habeas corpus petitions filed by Duterte’s children.
The latest submission, which included approximately 60,000 new signatures, was delivered by Padilla himself, who carried the documents in a suitcase. Supporters gathered outside the Supreme Court, voicing their call to “Bring him home” as the movement continues to gain momentum.
Among those present were former Presidential Communications Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson, along with a symbolic mascot representing the former president, further energizing the crowd.
According to Duterte supporter Joie Cruz, the petition campaign has now reached a total of around 304,000 signatures. She emphasized that all submissions are legitimate and independently verified, reflecting genuine public sentiment.
Cruz highlighted that the signatures were collected voluntarily, without any incentives or government aid. She noted that supporters willingly stepped forward, driven by the hope that the Supreme Court would take decisive action and uphold national sovereignty.
She also shared that the Supreme Court has acknowledged receipt of the signatures, signaling that the public’s appeal has been formally recognized.
Earlier this month, a second batch of 238,000 signatures had already been submitted by Padilla and the group, underscoring the sustained and expanding support behind the initiative.
