DAVAO CITY — A new chapter in education and care began on July 9, 2025, when the Rodrigo Duterte Academic Building was officially inaugurated at Balay Dangupan. This new facility, a gift from former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s loyal supporters, serves as a lasting tribute to his dedication to child welfare and his belief in the power of education.
The event was led by Acting Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte and Acting Vice Mayor Rodrigo “Rigo” Duterte II, who reflected on the profound impact of their PRRD’s legacy.
“We must carry forward what PRRD started, for ourselves, for our country,” said Acting Mayor Baste, inspiring the children of Balay Dangupan to chase their dreams. He also made a heartfelt promise: “While you’re away from your families, I will stand as your father. I’ll make sure you go to school and build a better future.”
With the opening of this academic building, Balay Dangupan solidifies its role as a sanctuary where children can learn, grow, and create brighter futures.
